«This book is about approaches to education that focus on maximizing the potential of each child, both as a learner and as a creative producer. Although individual chapters draw upon contributions of researchers and writers from around the world, it presents a unique approach by taking into consideration the history of educational development of giftedness, the structure of the general education system, and the needs and cultures of the native populations that have been long overlooked in special education provisions for able learners».
